Does Hypnotherapy work?

Yes, hypnotherapy does indeed work, many people have had operations under the influence of hypnotherapy. As a dentist you can now take an hypnodontic course, this great news meaning that hypnotherapy is now becoming main stream.  Every day in my hypnotherapy practice I see people making huge changes: Over coming anxieties and phobias, changing habits, setting new positive habits and overcoming difficult obstacles in their lives all thanks to hypnotherapy. 

Does Hypnotherapy work for everyone?

Yes, pretty much, anyone can be hypnotized as long as you can listen and follow simple instruction you can be hypnotized.

What happens during hypnosis

There are varying ways of achieving a hypnotic state. My goto method is to get you to focus on different parts of your body, then talk about your favourite place and get you to imagine being there, Once this is achieved I would then give suggestions pre agreed by you.

How does hypnotherapy work?

Your brain is similar to a computer we programme it with our suggestions, good or bad. Suggestions when repeated are very powerful and mould your character, personality, beliefs etc.  During hypnotherapy you are guided to a very relaxed state, asked to imagine a peaceful relaxing place, (this keeps your conscious brain active) allowing suggestion to go directly to your subconscious, this is where beliefs and habits are stored, in this hypnotic state a habit can be changed quite quickly.  Have you ever driven to work, thinking of what you’re going to cook for dinner, arrive at your destination and wonder how on earth you managed? Well that was your subconscious brain reverting to a habit (you following the same route everyday) whilst your conscious brain was busy. When you change jobs you will have to consciously change the habit, or, if you are on autopilot you will end up at the wrong place.

How effective is hypnotherapy?

The efficacy of hypnotherapy can vary greatly depending on: The skill of the therapist, The experience of the therapist in that particular area, the clients dedication and the situation. I only work in areas I get results in, my success rate is 99%. 

How many sessions of hypnotherapy are needed for anxiety

Most anxieties, fears, phobias are created in a minute and can be removed in a minute, most of the time that minute happens in the first session. Without knowing how deep into your way of thinking you are, a good estimate is 1-3 sessions.  

Can I get stuck in hypnosis?

No, some people enjoy the process so much they don’t want to wake up, but they do, if your therapist were to leave during your session, you would just fall asleep and then wake up naturally.  

Does hypnotherapy for anxiety work via Zoom?

Yes, I don’t use touch in my style of working, so hypnotherapy is just as effective as if I were in the room with you. As long as you have headphones and a reasonably quiet place ( not sat in a coffee shop!) it will work just as well.
