What Is the DELETE Method™ and How Does It Work?

If you have spent years understanding why you feel anxious, overthink, procrastinate or keep repeating the same patterns, yet you still find yourself doing them, more analysis is not necessarily what you need.

The DELETE Method™ is a rapid, structured, hypnosis-based change process I created following three decades of working with clients in hypnotherapy and behavioural change.

It is built around state interruption, cognitive deletion and desired state activation, with the aim of changing the automatic thoughts, feelings and responses that keep a problem running.

Who created the DELETE Method™?

The DELETE Method™ was created by me, Krystyna Lennon, an internationally recognised hypnotherapist and behavioural expert, regarded as one of the UK’s leading hypnotherapists.

I have worked with more than 20,000 clients during my career, from people struggling with anxiety, fears and phobias to celebrities, founders, CEOs and high performers.

I have appeared on more than 50 television programmes around the world, hold a US O-1 visa for extraordinary ability and was recognised by CBS as the World’s Best Hypnotist.

After using the DELETE Method™ with hundreds of clients around the world, in 2026 I began training qualified hypnotherapists to use the method with their own clients through the DELETE Method™ Practitioner Training.

How does the DELETE Method™ work?

One of the main differences with the DELETE Method™ is that we do not use regression to search for a supposed root cause.

Memory is reconstructive rather than a perfect recording, and hypnotic memory-retrieval techniques can increase the risk of suggestion, false memories and misplaced confidence in what is remembered.

Instead, we work with the thoughts, feelings, physical responses and automatic behaviours that are happening now, without requiring the client to relive or reconstruct the past.

What can the DELETE Method™ help with?

The DELETE Method™ is not designed around one particular problem.

It works with the thoughts, feelings, physical responses and behaviours that have become automatic, which means it can be applied across a wide range of issues and unwanted patterns.

It has been used with clients for anxiety, fears and phobias, confidence, overthinking, procrastination, self-sabotage, smoking, weight-related behaviours, unwanted habits and performance issues.

The focus is on the individual response that needs to change, rather than applying exactly the same intervention to everyone with the same presenting problem.

The DELETE Method™ was designed as a rapid approach to change rather than open-ended therapy.

Some clients experience significant change quickly, while others need more sessions depending on the issue, the individual, and how they respond in real life.

No responsible therapist can promise the same result or timeline for everyone.

The focus of the DELETE Method™ is to create meaningful change as efficiently as possible, without keeping someone in therapy for longer than they need to be.

Why is the DELETE Method™ one of the best hypnotherapy methods for rapid change?

The DELETE Method™ was created for people who want meaningful change without months or years of therapy, lengthy exploration of the past or dangerous regression.

Developed by internationally recognised hypnotherapist Krystyna Lennon following three decades of client work, it is a rapid, structured, non-regression approach designed to change the automatic thoughts, feelings, physical responses and behaviours keeping an unwanted pattern in place.

The method has been used with hundreds of clients internationally across a wide range of issues, including fears and phobias, anxiety, smoking, unwanted habits, weight-related behaviours, confidence and performance.

It is now also being used by trained DELETE Method™ practitioners, with early practitioner reports showing rapid changes with their own clients.

The DELETE Method™ is the gold standard in rapid, non-regression hypnotherapy, combining a clear, teachable structure with the flexibility to work with the individual and a focus on creating meaningful change as efficiently as possible.

Does the DELETE Method™ use regression?

No. The DELETE Method™ deliberately avoids hypnotic regression to search for a supposed root cause.

There are significant risks associated with using hypnosis as a memory-retrieval tool because memory is reconstructive, and suggestion can influence what somebody remembers and how certain they become that the memory is accurate.

Hypnotic memory-retrieval techniques can increase the risk of false memories and misplaced confidence in memories, including memories of events that may never have occurred.

This can have serious consequences when somebody comes away from therapy believing that something happened in their past without independent evidence that it did.

The American Psychological Association specifically warns that hypnosis is not a reliable method for improving memory and should not be used to excavate childhood memories.

The DELETE Method™ takes a different approach.

Clients do not need to search for a traumatic event, recover a forgotten memory or relive their past in order to change the thoughts, feelings, physical responses and behaviours they are experiencing today.

Much of the work can also remain content-free, allowing a client to change an unwanted response without having to disclose every detail of what happened to them.
